Character Information
Full Name: Vincent Valentine
Series Taken From: Final Fantasy 7/Advent Children
Power Retained: The ability to transform into Chaos.
Background: An ex-Turk, Vincent was once employed to SEC, or Shinra Electric Company. Liked or disliked, nothing mattered more to him than his job, and as such, he became reliable, being given jobs to do alone, as opposed to other Turks coming along. One such mission would turn out to be literally life changing for all involved, and even for some who weren't. The young Valentine was ordered to guide and protect a small group of scientists to Nibelheim, most importantly a man named Hojo. He conversed avidly with his assistant, Lucrecia Crescent, the two falling for one another. However, he soon learned of their plans to experiment on humans and tried to appeal to Lucrecia, who refused to hear him out. After a heated argument, she ran off, and into the arms of Hojo.
She soon became pregnant, and allowed Hojo to experiment on her and their unborn son. Frustrated and worried for Lucrecia, he tried talking to Hojo, who shot him dead for his efforts. While out, Hojo himself experimented on him, crafting the metal limb and giving him the unwanted, yet unique ability to transform into monsters. His body took it well enough, but was in danger of failing, until Lucrecia did something desperate in order to save him. She put in a creature of old, dubbed Chaos, inside of him. The demon proved to live up to his name, and fought to escape the tub Vincent had been put in to try and keep him alive. Somehow, Lucrecia came across an object called Protomateria and placed it into Vincent's chest, the materia working to calm the demon within her lover.
For the most part.
Hojo was unaware of this, and even who Chaos was. He had his suspicions, but never acted on them. Instead, he put Vincent in a coffin and locked him deep within Shinra Mansion. The young man was tormented for years by nightmares of his failure, later being awakened by Cloud, the leader of a group by the name of AVALANCHE. Deciding to join them, he aided in the battle and defeat of Sephiroth, realizing that his failure had caused much more damage and tragedy than he could have imagined. After the defeat of Sephiroth, he went away, hiding mostly in the Forgotten Capital as he thought on his mistakes. Two years went by before he saw anyone again, having saved Cloud from an attack by Kadaj and his brothers in the Capital, as well as helping his fellow AVALANCHE members fight Bahamut.
Almost a year after and right before he's asked by Reeve to come to Kalm, Vincent got a letter, an invitation to somewhere. He discarded it, yet kept getting a new one on more than one occasion. Bothered by this, he decides to give in and makes his way for the House On The Hill.
